Roundtable • Russian Scholars in Exile

In 2024, the Russian government officially banned all U.S. cultural and educational exchange programs and labeled the organizations administering them as “undesirable.” In conjunction with the 15th annual conference of the Russian American Science Association (RASA), the Center is hosting a roundtable with Russian Fulbright and YEAR alumni who are unable to return to Russia for the fear of severe political persecution at home. The discussion will illuminate the dangers faced by Russian scholars, who embrace democratic values, freedom of expression, and oppose Russia’s war against Ukraine.
