Islamization in the Golden Horde and Communal Identity among the Türkmens: The Subtle Social Legacies of Közlük Ata

Dr. Devin DeWeese is a professor of Central Eurasian Studies at Indiana University. His research focuses on Islamic Central Asia, Sufism, Islamization, and Islamic hagiography. He is the recipient a Guggenheim Fellowship and was named a Carnegie Scholar in 2006. He also served as the Director of the Sinor Research Institute for Inner Asian Studies at Indiana University.
