Talk • “It Heaves, Manifests And Lasts”: The Case Of Vladimir Nabokov’s Lolita

Dana Dragunoiu is Associate Professor of English at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. Her first book, Vladimir Nabokov and the Poetics of Liberalism, was published in 2011 by Northwestern University Press. Her second book, titled Vladimir Nabokov and the Art of Moral Acts, will be published this fall also by Northwestern University Press. Her work on Nabokov has appeared in several academic journals (Comparative Literature, Nabokov Studies, Contemporary Literatureand Journal of Modern Literature) and collections of essays such as Nabokov in Context, Nabokov Upside Down and Approaches to Teaching Lolita. She is the General Editor of TheNabokovian.org.
Dragunoiu’s guest talk is part of “Wicked Desire: Vladimir Nabokov’s Lolita On Page and Screen,” a summer session course by Prof. Stanislav Shvabrin, Director of the UNC Russian Program and the Russian Flagship Program.
