Carolina Seminar • An Unbreakable Friendship: Soviet Medical Internationalism in 1960s Cuba
April 20 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Paula Michaels is an Associate Professor at the Department of History at Monash University. Professor Michaels’ work bridges the histories of Eastern and Western Europe, integrating the USSR into a pan-European and global narrative through the study of social and cultural history. She will present her paper, “An Unbreakable Friendship: Soviet Medical Internationalism in 1960s Cuba”.
The seminar series is co-sponsored by the Carolina Seminar Program, the UNC Department of History, the Center for Slavic, Eurasian and East European Studies, and the Central Asia Working Group. Please note that the participants will give an overview of their projects, but will not read a formal paper. Instead, papers or book chapters will be circulated ahead of time to those who are interested in attending and participating in the discussion. Please contact Dr. Eren Tasar for more information (email@example.com).
