An Evening in Honor of Svetlana Alexievich’s Work

Please join us for a roundtable on the work of recent Nobel Literature Prize Winner Svetlana Alexievich. This event is free and open to the public.


You are cordially invited to a roundtable honoring the achievement of Svetlana Alexievich, Winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature ’15. Participants include Radislav Lapushin (Associate Professor of Russian, Germanic & Slavic), Irene Masing-Delic (Research Professor of Russian, Germanic & Slavic), Donald Raleigh (Jay Richard Judson Distinguished Professor of History, Director of the Center for Slavic, Eurasian, & East European Studies), and Stanislav Shvabrin (Assistant Professor of Russian, Germanic & Slavic Dept.). The event is organized by the UNC Center for Slavic, Eurasian, & East European Studies and will feature a brief survey of Alexievich’s career in letters, most notable publications, reactions to her work in the former USSR and abroad, as well to her most recent global accolade.
