Q: Where did you study as an undergraduate? What was your major(s)?
I graduated from University of Utah with a degree in history.
Q: Why did you choose CSEEES?
I choose UNC CSEEES because I wanted to improve my Russian language skills and broaden my knowledge of the region.
Q: Why did you choose to study this region of the globe?
My interest in this region stems from my time studying Russian ballet technique at the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington D.C.
Q: Do you have work and/or study experience in the region?
I studied in Kyiv, Ukraine for six weeks (summer 2012) and I spent two months studying in St. Petersburg, Russia (summer 2010).
Q: What is your thesis topic?
Soviet Ballet in the Perestroika Period.
Q: What is your dream job?
I would love a job that combines my passion for the arts and my knowledge of area studies.
Q: What are your hobbies? What do you like doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy traveling, camping, hiking and spending time with my fiancé and our dog, Zoey.
